Anita Challen

Assistant Commissioner, ATO

Anita Challen is the Assistant Commissioner for Digital Products and Services – Individuals and Intermediaries, and the official Tax Time spokesperson at the ATO. Anita has over 20 years' experience in the ATO, and she has extensive knowledge across several diverse roles in the organisation. Having started her career in the ATO call centre, before moving into providing technical advice and rulings for taxpayers, Anita has a long history of working in the ATO's frontline environment, delivering the ATO's online service for business and leading strategic programs. Anita holds a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Queensland and works with industry and business representatives, taxpayer advocates, and international tax agencies to ensure greater transparency in the ATO's approach and to inform the delivery of improved digital products and services.

Damian Ogden

Damian has more than two decades of experience in public policy, advocacy and strategic leadership across Australia, New Zealand, and North America. Prior to joining CA ANZ, he served as Group Executive, Policy and Public Affairs at Engineers Australia, where he led high-impact campaigns and government engagement across complex policy portfolios.

Earlier in his career, Damian held senior roles in government relations and policy development, where he built a reputation for delivering strong policy agendas through targeted government relations strategies. His work has spanned economic reform, regulatory policy, skills and standards - always with a commitment to advancing the public interest and long-term social, economic, and environmental reform.

Damian is passionate about the role of accounting in shaping economic policy and reform. At CA ANZ, he leads the organisation's advocacy agenda across Australia, New Zealand and international markets, working closely with members, governments and key stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes for both members and the wider profession.

He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School's executive leadership program and the University of Sydney.

Judy White
Judy White
Executive Director, Tax, Corporate & International Tax, BDO Australia

Judy is an Executive Director with BDO in Brisbane in the Tax Division. She has a relationship-driven approach and builds strong working relationships. Judy has extensive experience in applying advice to businesses in income tax and employment taxes — Fringe Benefits Tax, Superannuation Guarantee, PAYG Withholding. She also has a passion for presenting, regularly providing presentations, training and lecturing on tax topics.

Judy is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants; a Chartered Accountant and Fellow of CA ANZ; a Chartered Tax Adviser of The Tax Institute and a registered Tax Agent.

Nick is an accomplished leader with over 33 years of experience working in the technology sector. He has a proven track record in building high-performing teams and is an expert strategist with a deep understanding of the technology challenges across many diverse industries.

He transitioned to professional services in 2007 and worked for the big-4 before joining BDO as a Partner in 2016. He is BDO's National Digital Advisory leader and provides advice to the public and private sectors.

As a trusted advisor to the C-suite, Nick builds trust quickly and is adept at developing strong and long-lasting relationships. He has an entrepreneurial spirit, is articulate and well considered.

Peter was first appointed to the Board in July 2017 and reappointed in October 2020. He was appointed as Chair in May 2023 and was Acting Chair immediately prior to his appointment as Chair.

Peter is a professional non-executive director. His experience in tax matters has developed over a 25-year career as a tax partner with KPMG, and as a registered tax agent for 16 years. Peter is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. He is Chair of the Royal Flying Doctor Service SA & NT, Chair of Wirra Wirra Vineyards, Chair of Accord Property Holdings Pty Ltd and the Accord Property Development Fund, a Director of the South Australian Fire & Emergency Commission, PMB Defence Pty Ltd, Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia and Variety the Children's Charity SA. Peter holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Adelaide.
