Jessica brings a wealth of legal experience gained from working in private practice at a top tier national law firm, international experience working as a lawyer in a London based litigation firm, and in-house as a lawyer for a global insurer and private investment company.
Kaitilin Lowdon is a Principal Lawyer in Sladen Legal. She acts for a diverse range of clients, including high net wealth individuals, family offices and business enterprises. Her expertise includes advising clients on high-profile and complex tax matters, including reviews, audits and litigation, and transactions, across a wide range of taxation matters. Kaitilin is an active member of the tax community and frequently presents for tax professionals, including for industry bodies, clients and accounting firms and has also co-authored of a number of tax related articles and publications. Kaitilin has a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from Monash University.
Our Managing Director Meg Heffron, has been working exclusively in SMSFs since 1998. She is one of the few actuaries to work in all areas of SMSF practice. Her passion is turning technical knowledge about SMSFs into practical solutions that accountants and advisers can use to help their clients and grow their businesses.
She is a sought-after speaker at events for industry professionals and their clients, a regular contributor to the Australian Financial Review, The Australian and SMSF trade publications and a trusted source in the development and implementation of superannuation policy via government and regulators.
Scott brings a wealth of experience in tax practice, tax administration, and leadership to the role of Chief Executive Officer of The Tax Institute. Scott’s career as a Chartered Tax Advisor has spanned large and mid-tier professional firms and Government in technical and leadership roles. A dedicated member of The Tax Institute for over 20 years, Scott has contributed significantly to the knowledge of members and the betterment of Australia's taxation and superannuation system overall.
Scott was previously the General Manager, Tax Policy and Advocacy, at The Tax Institute, leading it’s tax technical team for three years. During this time, he proactively enhanced the team’s capabilities, orchestrated a successful overhaul of the various committees and councils to improve the representation of our members, built strong relationships with key stakeholders across the industry, academia, and all levels of Government, and drove the Institute’s growing influence in policy and advocacy circles. He is a passionate advocate for holistic tax policy reform and is a visionary business leader known for his forward-thinking approach.
