Count Financial has appointed Christopher Burton as its new practice development manager, effective from 18 May.
Mr Burton, who has previously been a practice development manager with the Commonwealth Bank, will be now tasked with bringing in new accounting firms and revisiting the business strategies of firms already within the Count Financial network.
Count Financial chief advice officer Andrew Kennedy said Mr Burton’s skills and experience highlight the network’s focus on growth in the financial advice space since being bought by CountPlus last year.
“For some time now, we have been talking about our commitment to growth at a time when other players have been leaving the industry,” Mr Kennedy said.
“There are quality advisers out there who are looking for a licensee that has a long-term vision, and the systems in place to achieve it. Chris’ appointment will help us deliver on this strategy.
“His experience speaks for itself. He has a strong track record in practice development and growth roles over the past two decades and has an intimate knowledge of the industry.”
Mr Burton’s appointment follows that of Phil Creswell to the role of Count Financial head of professional standards in April.
