Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) announced today that Rick Ellis will join the organisation as CEO at the end of July, based in Sydney.
Mr Ellis has had a career in the IT industry in senior executive roles and is currently the CEO of the National Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa in Wellington, New Zealand.
Other roles he has held include group executive of Telstra Media and CEO of Television New Zealand.
“The profession is in a time of significant change. We’ve invested in our people and our digital assets, and are now looking to continue to transform what we do and how we do it so that we remain relevant as a profession, and as a member organisation,” CA ANZ Chairman Murray Jack said.
“Rick brings many skills based on years of international experience to this task. We are really excited to attract someone of Rick’s reputation and calibre to our organisation.”
The announcement follows the news last month that Lee White, who has been CEO since 2011, would be stepping down from the role.
Between now and Mr Ellis’ commencement as CEO, CA ANZ head of members Simon Grant will act as interim CEO.
