Big 4 firm adds new Melbourne partner for HNWs

Appointments

A big four firm has announced the appointment of a new partner as it seeks to bolster its mid-market reach in Melbourne.

KPMG has acquired Clive Bird as a partner in its Enterprise Melbourne office, working primarily with “private businesses and high net worth individuals”.

Mr Bird’s appointment comes into effect today, and follows 27 years’ experience in specialist tax consulting. He was previously the national managing tax partner at mid-tier firm ShineWing Australia.

According to KPMG, Mr Bird is a mid-market specialist and an accomplished tax adviser, with strengths in the “development of complex solutions, technical advisory work and outstanding client service, illustrated by an impressive business development track record”.

KPMG Enterprise national managing partner Rob Bazzani said the appointment is a result of strong growth within the division, which has seen significant revenue growth over the last three years.

Since 2016, KPMG Enterprise has established a high growth ventures arm working with start-ups and entrepreneurs; launched Australia’s first ASX 300+ report; and expanded its Greater Western Sydney office through various acquisitions.

“Everyone within KPMG’s Enterprise division is a passionate supporter of the mid-market,” said Mr Bazzani.
