BDO has announced that partner Pippa Hobson will assume the role as chair of its Perth office following her joining the firm in February this year.
Ms Hobson, who has over 20 years’ experience in internal audit, governance and risk advisory, working with clients in the public sector, listed and non-listed companies in the private sector and not-for-profit entities, was a former associate director at KPMG, and a risk consulting and internal audit partner at Crowe Horwath.
“Pippa joined BDO as partner in our advisory practice in February 2018, bringing with her a wealth of experience, insights and knowledge that has made a positive impact on the business in the relatively short time she has been with us, making her a natural choice for this key role in our firm,” said WA managing partner Peter Toll.
“Pippa’s extensive experience in the profession, coupled with her technical expertise in governance and risk management is an excellent skill set to add to the WA leadership team.”
She succeeds former BDO WA chair Sherif Andrawes, who was appointed as global natural resources leader in April, promoted from the Australian representative on BDO’s international Natural Resources Group.
Mr Andrawes, who was chair since 2009, will continue his role as leader of BDO Perth’s Corporate Finance practice.
“I am thoroughly enjoying my global role working with my colleagues across the world to share ideas and further build on the strength of our capabilities that address the issues and emerging challenges our clients are facing in this sector,” said Mr Andrawes.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Pippa on her appointment and look forward to continuing to work with her and Peter Toll as they guide the future direction of BDO in WA.”
