Mal Di Giulio, managing partner of Nexia Perth, has now been appointed as chair of Nexia Australia.
The new chair will now lead the 64 partners and 460 staff across the Australian network, having been a director at the firm’s Perth office since 1994.
Mr Di Giulio will succeed Ian Stone, who was appointed last year as chair of Nexia International, marking the first time a representative from Australasia has been selected to chair the network.
“I am very excited to be appointed as the new chair of Nexia Australia and look forward to continuing to strengthen the relationships between our Nexia firms in Australia,” Mr Di Giulio said.
“The accounting and advisory industry is changing and I am confident that through the agility of all of our firms, we are able to adapt to these changes to ensure that our clients, no matter the location, are receiving top-level service.”
Former chair Mr Stone said Mr Di Giulio’s appointment would bolster its standing as the world’s ninth-largest network.
“Mal embraces the aspirations and direction of the network, and I am confident his forward-thinking and proactive nature will be instrumental in the further development of the Nexia network throughout Australia,” Mr Stone said.
“I am proud to have been chair and actively involved with the growth and development of our Nexia Australia network over the last 10 years. I am now excited to move into my new role of international chair and pass on the responsibility to Mal.”
