EY has appointed Astrid Beemster as a law services partner specialising in real estate transaction advisory, effective 24 June.

Ms Beemster was most recently a partner with law firm DLA Piper and had previously worked with King & Wood Mallesons.

According to EY, Ms Beemster specialises in real estate transaction advisory across a range of sectors and asset classes, and has particular expertise acting for offshore entrants into the Australian real estate market.

EY Oceania law leader Kirsty Keating said Ms Beemster’s experience in property investments and advisory across a range of sectors will only benefit EY’s multidisciplinary law services team.

“We are delighted to welcome a professional of Astrid’s calibre to EY’s growing law services team, particularly with her strong reputation and credentials in real estate advisory,” Ms Keating said.

“There is so much opportunity in real estate both in legal advisory services and also legal managed services.

“EY is already strong in the real estate sector, and Astrid will be a great addition to EY’s multidisciplinary real estate team.”

Ms Beemster said she was thrilled to be joining EY as it presents new opportunities to apply her expertise and help clients.

“It is very exciting to be leaving behind the traditional law firm model, and to apply my expertise as a commercial real estate lawyer in a new environment,” she said.

“The integration of real estate legal services onto EY’s offering is ripe with opportunities to assist the clients with truly integrated business solutions.”
