Appointments

A mid-tier network has announced six new partners across its Australian offices as it shrugs off COVID-19 uncertainty.

Pitcher Partners has admitted six new partners across its Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Newcastle and Sydney offices as part of its 2020 partner intake.

In the network’s private business and family advisory business, Chris Hanna will be elevated to principal in the Adelaide office, while Peter Lawrence and Jake Berger will now be partners at the Newcastle and Sydney offices, respectively.

The appointments also include Cheryl Mason in the audit and assurance division and Kieran Wallis in the corporate finance line in Pitcher Partners’ Brisbane office.

David Beford rounds up the appointments as a partner in investment advisory at the firm’s Melbourne office.

Pitcher Partners National Association chair John Brazzale said the appointments come at a time when client care and support is needed most.

“The middle market is doing it tough due to COVID-19, and it’s our job to support our clients to foster stronger business investment, which will in turn fuel employment opportunities and the economy,” Mr Brazzale said.

“Today’s news does not come as an overnight decision. It has been years in the making for our colleagues, who have demonstrated consistent care and commitment to our clients, particularly in times of need like the world we find ourselves in today.”

Mr Brazzale said it was important for the firm to continue recognising the hard work and commitment of its staff even during uncertain times.

“Career growth must continue, even during trying times, to sure up the future of the next generation of trusted advisers,” Mr Brazzale said.

“The journey to partner is a humbling one, characterised by drive and commitment to making business personal for the many business owners and leaders leading the middle market — the engine room of Australia’s economy.

“Client care and support is at the heart of what we do, and this support is more important than ever as businesses navigate unprecedented challenges, but also newfound opportunities.”
