Liston Newton Advisory has appointed former Moore Australia CEO Peter Antonius as Group CEO of their accounting and advice business.
Based out of Liston Newton’s Malvern office, Mr Antonius will lead the group’s strategic growth and operational initiatives, with a particular focus on integrating new acquisitions into the business.
He will help the business continue to scale nationally across accounting, wealth, lending and bookkeeping services while maintaining the firm’s high professional standards for staff and clients.
Liston Newton managing director John Liston said the appointment was an exciting step as the firm expands to national mid-tier status.
“We are thrilled to welcome Peter to the Liston Newton team,” Mr Liston said.
“Peter brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in managing accounting firms at a large scale and on the back of a very successful career spanning 20 years in the accounting and consulting space.”
Mr Antonius joins Liston Newton after five years as the CEO of Moore Australia, with his most recent role as deputy commander of the Victorian government’s COVID-19 taskforce.
He held a variety of roles within the professional services, financial services, property and entertainment sectors and was managing director of the Australian operations of Resources Global Professionals, a multinational professional services firm that helps business leaders execute internal initiatives across all parts of a global enterprise.
He is also a director on the Victoria/Tasmania Board of Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia and a member of CPA Australia.
Mr Antonius said one of his first priorities would be the successful integration of two acquisitions recently made in Port Macquarie on the mid-north coast of NSW, with Liston Newton at an exciting inflection point.
“We’re experiencing strong demand for our services, and we’ve built a very capable and motivated team that is hungry for continued growth over the next five years,” he said.
Mr Antonius said joining Liston Newton fulfilled a strong desire to work in a practice at a level where he could have an immediate impact and affect real change.
“I am excited to be joining the Liston Newton team at a point in their journey where they are looking to build on their success by further developing new services, building out their geographic presence and working to deliver greater value and opportunities for their clients.”
