BDO has announced the appointment of Justin Harness as a partner within its Sydney consulting team.
The firm said that the former KPMG director would lead its NSW strategy and transformation practice.
BDO partner in charge, consulting Jenine Waters said that Mr Harness’ knowledge of the sector would be invaluable.
“Justin brings over 20 years of experience as a strategic transformation expert, leading some of Australasia’s largest and most complex programs across both government and private sectors,” said Ms Waters.
“He has extensive experience in strategy, business transformation and optimisation, mergers and acquisitions, strategic sourcing, procurement and change management.
“We look forward to Justin driving sustainable transformational change and improved operational business performance for our clients.”
Mr Harness’ appointment would help bolster the firm’s ability to assist clients in their business transformation, said BDO Sydney office managing partner Grant Saxon.
“Justin’s appointment is a reflection of BDO’s strategy to grow our leadership position in key markets and work closely alongside our clients to navigate a complex and rapidly evolving business environment,” said Mr Saxon.
“Business transformation is a complex issue for many organisations, and we look forward to Justin safely and adeptly steering our clients through the journey.”
Aside from working for KPMG, Mr Harness also previously worked for Sydney Trains as a strategic adviser, Macquarie Group as a global lead for strategic sourcing and commercial, and also as head of knowledge management at Barclays Bank.
BDO Australia was founded in 1975 and has grown to become one of the largest in the BDO organisation with over 2,140 staff and almost 250 partners as well as offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart, Cairns, and the Sunshine Coast.
