Accounting firm Hayes Knight has welcomed a merger with boutique Sydney accounting business Ratio Partners as part of the firm’s growth strategy.
Ratio Partners brings with it a specialisation in the hospitality, media and entertainment sectors while the merger provides the business with greater resources and specialisations.
Hayes Knight director Greg Hayes said he was pleased to have brought on board Ratio Partners principal Michael Wall as well as the rest of the Ratio Partners team to the firm.
“Michael and his team represent a quality addition to Hayes Knight,” he said. “From our early discussions it was evident that we have shared values and a commitment to providing the best solutions available to our clients.
“Ratio provides us with a deeper exposure to some specialist sectors.
“In turn our depth and spread of services will assist the Ratio clients in the growth of their businesses.”
Mr Wall said that the move into the larger firm made strategic sense for his company.
“The Hayes Knight team gives us a significant increase in resources, allowing us to provide our clients with a wider range of services and greater depth in some specialist areas that arise with any growing business,” he said.
“As a specialist, but smaller firm there was always a challenge to be able to resource our growth.
“Joining Hayes Knight has made that so much easier and is a win for our clients.”
Mr Hayes said that the move by his firm to merge with Ratio Partners was part of its growth strategy as it looked to continue expanding its reach.
“Whilst we have a clear focus on organic growth, merger and acquisition growth complements this providing it is in line with our strategic direction,” said Mr Hayes.
“The ability to grow the firm with quality people and a diversified client base is always an attractive option.
“Our strategy is very much about, right people, right work, right clients. Get these right and the rest tends to look after itself.”
Founded in the 1980s, Hayes Knight has developed from a one-man practice into a small partnership structure and now a larger corporate structure, which provides a range of advisory and compliance services to support businesses throughout Australia.
