Accounting software firm Xero has appointed former Google vice-president of product management Diya Jolly as its chief product officer.
Xero CEO Sukhinder Singh Cassidy said Ms Jolly brought considerable experience in growing firms and developing business products.
“Diya brings market-leading global experience in designing, developing and launching consumer and business products in high growth mid-sized companies, start-ups and Fortune 500 brands,” said Ms Singh Cassidy.
“I look forward to welcoming her to lead this essential function as we focus our efforts on unlocking the next phase in Xero’s global journey and realising our small business platform vision.”
A Harvard Business School graduate, Ms Jolly joins Xero from Okta where she also held the chief product officer role and was responsible for leading product innovation for both its workforce and customer identity business.
During her time at Google Ms Jolly was responsible for implementing the adoption of some of the company’s leading products such as Google Home, Nest, YouTube monetisation and Gmail monetisation.
Xero said her role would be to lead its teams in driving product management, development and design as well as product marketing to further improve its small business platform.
On her appointment Ms Jolly said she was looking forward to getting started at Xero.
“Those who know me know that the ability to have impact is always my most important criteria for selecting what I choose to do professionally and personally,” said Ms Jolly.
“Having a family full of small business owners and entrepreneurs, the impact that Xero has on the world spoke very strongly to me.”
“I believe the world class team at Xero and Xero’s market leading product suite are exceptionally well poised to drive even greater impact for SMBs, accountants and bookkeepers all over the world.”
Ms Jolly starts on 10 April and Xero’s executive general manager of small business accounting Tim Bradley will be in an acting role.
Ms Singh Cassidy acknowledged Anna Curzon’s contribution during her time as product chief and said Xero was looking forward to welcoming her back when the time was right for her and her family.
“Anna has led our product strategy through an important phase in our global journey,” said Ms Singh Cassidy.
“We acknowledge her considerable contribution to our business, our customers and our people.”
“I would like to extend my sincere appreciation and support to Anna as she focuses on her own and her family’s health recovery. We look forward to her returning to Xero at the right time.”
