KordaMentha has appointed two experienced partners, Chris Russell and Rahul Lobo, to expand its forensic and cyber security teams, respectively.
The firm said the appointments were a reflection of its commitment to addressing the growing expectations of its clients.
Mr Russell joined the firm’s forensic practice with more than 20 years of industry experience and brought with him expertise in the use of legal technology, specialising in the use of data analytics and document review technologies.
KordaMentha said he had previously managed complex e-discovery — digital investigation — projects related to litigation, arbitration, and regulatory requirements.
Partner and forensic technology lead at KordaMentha, Brendan Read, said adding Mr Russell’s specialist skills would increase the firm’s digital, cyber, and e-discovery capabilities.
“We have seen an increased demand across investigations, incident response and digital forensics to support our cyber and financial crime services,” said Mr Read.
“Chris brings a strong expertise in e-discovery and will work closely with the forensic service line to support the strategic growth of the eDiscovery practice.”
KordaMentha said Mr Lobo had over 20 years of experience in consulting with clients to resolve their cyber and technological challenges in the process of aiding business transformation.
Mr Lobo’s cyber security expertise saw him view it as a strategic opportunity to enhance business operations for clients, empowering them to service customers with confidence and foster trust.
KordaMentha partner Chris Martin said Mr Lobo’s appointment improved the firm’s position as a leader in cyber security advisory.
“The evolving regulatory landscape around privacy, data security and integrity breaches continues to increase demand for cyber and financial crime expertise,” said Mr Martin.
“Rahul brings expertise from his expansive career working across specialist areas, such as cloud security, cyber security architecture, vulnerability management and assessment and attack and penetration testing of systems, allowing KordaMentha to stay at the forefront of cyber security advisory.”
The firm said Mr Lobo had joined after more than 17 years with EY’s advanced security centre and technology consulting division.
Mr Russell joined the firm from FTI Consulting where he was a managing director in its e-discovery practice and prior to that was a director at Deloitte’s digital service line.
