Business spend management firm Coupa Software has appointed former Google VP Mark Innes as senior vice-president of sales in the Asia-Pacific and Japan region.
The firm said Mr Innes would assist expansion and be responsible for driving Coupa’s platform sales, building strategic industry partnerships and furthering its relationships with suppliers in the region.
Mr Innes said he was looking forward to joining Coupa and helping the firm achieve its goals.
“We have made fantastic headway in the region and built a solid foundation of employees, customer and partner network,” he said.
“I look forward to furthering our scale and equipping more businesses with the digital solutions they need to build financial resilience.”
Coupa said it aimed to assist businesses manage spending through the “unique capabilities” of its software, which empowered customers, partners and suppliers with increased visibility and insights.
It said helping CFOs address expenses had become more important due to inflation, increasing interest rates and the possibility of recession.
Coupa said its platform provided a unified and digitised system to help businesses and their CFOs achieve their goals of remaining profitable and productive despite the uneasy economic climate, and strived to deliver value across sourcing, contracting, procurement and supply chain.
“CFOs are under increasing pressure to cut costs, without compromising long term growth,” said Mr Innes.
“By providing accurate data on spend, CFOs can make informed decisions to optimise financial performance and drive their business forward.”
Beyond his time at Google, Mr Innes was an executive VP and general manager of the APAC region at Salesforce and, before that, a VP at Oracle.
