Last week, PKF Australia revealed it had appointed a new national chief operating officer, Dr Lana Weldon.
Weldon, previously general manager and head of national quality management for Moore Australia, said she was thrilled to have joined the PKF team.
“I am excited to be joining PKF Australia and I look forward to making a significant and positive impact,” Weldon said.
“With the talent that already exists within PKF, the generosity of spirit, and the strong appetite to attract new member firms and grow, I believe there is a wonderful opportunity to guide the continued development of people and services, and to assert PKF as a leader in the provision of sustainable, strategic and highly accessible solutions for modern businesses.”
Weldon, a graduate member of Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and awarded for her fellowship at CA ANZ, has been widely recognised for her commitment to the education and development of chartered accountants.
PKF Australia chair Steve Meyn said he was delighted to have welcomed Weldon to the leadership team.
“Lana is an energetic and experienced executive with expert multi-disciplinary skills that include governance, consulting and education,” Meyn said.
“With a strong passion for research and people development, Lana is acutely aware of industry better practices, and actively mentors many young professionals within our sector.”
Previously interviewed by Accountants Daily, Weldon spoke about her passion for the industry and the importance of attracting and retaining talent.
Weldon said she was set to bring the same energy, passion and dedication to her new role at PKF Australia.
“Continued change and development takes passion and energy, and I am very much looking forward to contributing.”
