The firm welcomed Miller to its partnership team, where he would be responsible and specialise in transaction advisory services, effective early April.
Miller has over 20 years’ experience advising local and international clients, transactions and advisory services at big four firms and has also had industry exposure in chief financial officer and senior finance roles.
Miller said he was delighted to join the Grant Thornton partnership team in Melbourne.
“I am eager to dive into advising clients on transactions across a range of industries. I enjoy helping guide clients through the transaction process, using my skills and experience to add value and work through challenges across all stages of the economic cycle,” he said.
“I aim to assist my clients and give them confidence when undertaking activities during what tends to be a demanding process. Beyond advising on the numbers, I aim to connect with the people and organisations I work with. The team at Grant Thornton has already been so welcoming and I feel privileged to join a business where I can continue to draw on my extensive knowledge in a high-performing environment.”
In addition to big four experience in transaction advisory services, Miller also had strong industry experience in senior finance roles across growth companies and healthcare businesses.
Miller said throughout his industry experience, he has played key roles across financial, operational and corporate development activities, including M&A and investment opportunities.
Speaking on the appointment, Grant Thornton national head of corporate finance, Holly Stiles, said Miller was set to bring depth and breadth to his advisory role at the firm.
“With the unique blend of industry and transaction expertise, Ashley takes a different perspective when advising clients. His experience leading large-scale transactions being a business-side strategic advisor, finance leader and CFO will be valuable when guiding clients on their strategic business decisions,” she said.
“Our national corporate finance team is excited to have Ashley on board and looks forward to collaborating with him across various client engagements.”
