Fifty-two per cent of the appointments for KPMG are in the advisory division and the firm is also reporting "significant growth" in management consulting, which saw 25 new partners added.
Under the new leadership of David Linke, the tax practice attracted 9 new partners, growing by 15 per cent.
The audit business has also grown by 10 per cent with six new partner, enterprise by 12 per cent with seven new partners, and shared services by 11 per cent with six new partners.
Further, 23 appointments were to partners who have an innovation, transformation, technology or cyber focus.
Overall, 25 per cent of the new partners are female, with women comprising 39 percent of internal partner promotions.
External hires increased year-on-year to 40 percent of total hires. Fifty-three per cent of appointments were from internal promotions and seven per cent from acquisitions.
"We have a continued focus on attracting the top industry talent to come and work with us and add to the diversity of perspectives. We are proud that over half of our new partners were promoted from within, reflecting the quality of people we have at the firm," said KPMG Australia chief executive Gary Wingrove.
