HLB Mann Judd has appointed Chew Mar as director and head of its restructuring and risk advisory division in Brisbane.

Mr Mar has more than 18 years’ experience in multi-jurisdictional corporate restructuring and recovery, cross-border international financing and advisory transactions in Australia, Asia and Europe.

“Chew’s international experience in restructuring, risk advisory and insolvency, brings significant depth and breadth of expertise and experience to the firm,” HLB Mann Judd Brisbane’s managing partner James Henderson said.

“His particular experience in the mining and resources, property and construction, retail and manufacturing, and agribusiness industries, will stand us in good stead.”

Mr Mar was most recently working for an international investment bank in Hong Kong, advising on corporate restructuring, cross-border international financing and advisory transactions in the Asia-Pacific region.

“Australian businesses are increasingly competing on a global stage and having access to Chew’s knowledge and skills, gained in both Asia and Europe, will be especially valuable to businesses needing restructuring or risk advice,” HLB Mann Judd Australasian Association chairman Tony Fittler said.
