The Sage Group plc (Sage) recently announced an agreement to acquire US-based analytics and benchmarking platform, Compass.
Sage cited the desire to level the playing field between small businesses and big business as the driver behind its acquisition of Compass, which will enable it to provide its customers with high-quality analytics and real-time actionable insight, using the power of big data.
“Small businesses are the heroes of the economy, creating two-thirds of all jobs. The fact that so many fail within their first year is a huge risk to the future health of the global economy,” said Frank van Baar, EVP data science at Sage.
“Last year we launched the Sage Forum for Business Builders, promising to bring greater insight to businesses around the world. This acquisition is a key building block in delivering that promise.”
