Crowe Horwath, which is part of the privately-owned accountancy and financial advisory firm Findex, has today announced the acquisition of Grafton-based R.G.Turns Accounting and Taxation Practice (R.G. Turns).
R.G. Turns founder and principal Bob Turns said the acquisition will increase the services available to R.G Turns’ clients.
“The acquisition marks a significant step forward for R.G.Turns, which will offer our loyal clients national expertise with a local presence, while ensuring they are as valued as ever,” Mr Turns said.
“Crowe Horwath has a 50-year history in the Grafton region and mirrors our vision of staying local, but growing in order to offer clients more.”
Mr Turns and R.G. Turns senior accountant Jennifer McLellan are now working from the Crowe Horwath office in Grafton NSW, supported by a team of 12 financial professionals.
“The acquisition of Bob Turns’ firm continues the Crowe Horwath spirit of having regional businesses and private clients as the cornerstone of our professional financial services firm,” said Johannes Venter, partner at Crowe Horwath Grafton.
Meanwhile, Crowe Horwath has also launched FoundX, a new initiative to support regional Australian startups and small businesses.
The first regional FoundX hub is being launched in Geelong, giving local startups access to engaging and informative meetups tailored for entrepreneurs, as well as business mentoring.
“Geelong is one of Australia’s largest regional centres and was selected as the first regional hub in the national roll-out of FoundX due to its thriving startup and small business community,” said Mark Whelan, Crowe Horwath executive managing partner and Geelong local.
“We have seen Crowe Horwath grow as part of that community and this is a great opportunity to give back.”
