Mr Ellis, who took over from Lee White at the end of July, this morning announced to members that one of his key priorities with the board is to lead a strategy and development review of the association.
According to an email currently being distributed to members, the review will begin in September, and will be based in a large part on member engagement and feedback.
“This strategic review will allow us as an organisation to engage with stakeholders, including businesses, government agencies and key segments and geographies within our membership, to create an organisation that is world-class,” Mr Ellis said.
“In a few months, I will be able to share with you our strategic developments and I look forward to doing so. Your views will be critical in this process and we will be actively working with your representative councils and committees to channel local feedback.”
Mr Ellis noted the “significant” changes the accounting profession is facing on a domestic and international scale.
“It is important that your professional body supports you now and prepares you for the future challenges and opportunities in the business environments in which you serve and operate,” he said.
