The big four firm has announced the appointment of Sudeep Gohil as head of brand strategy, following his role as managing partner and chief strategy office of Publicis Worldwide in India.
Mr Gohil is the latest industry leader to join KPMG’s CBMA business since it was established in July 2017, following in the footsteps of former Publicis Communications chair and Publicis Australia chief executive, Andrew Baxter.
In his new role, Mr Gohil will be working within the CBMA business to help clients with brand strategy, as well as providing guidance to KPMG’s own brand and market positioning.
His previous work include time at top media agencies including BBH, Wieden + Kennedy, Droga5, 72andSunny and Publicis Worldwide, helping shape brand strategy for organisations including Netflix, Nike, Coca-Cola, and UNICEF.
“We are delighted to be bringing Sudeep into the KPMG team. His global viewpoint, in-depth experience working on marketing strategy for leading brands, and his entrepreneurial approach fit perfectly [with] what our clients are looking for,” said KPMG CBMA partner-in-charge Paul Howes.
Mr Gohil, who will be making a return to Sydney after his role as the founding partner of advertising agency, Droga5, welcomed the opportunity to join the big four firm.
“I’m immensely pleased to be joining the team at KPMG. Moving back to Australia, I wanted to be 100 percent sure I joined a genuinely forward-thinking company with significant opportunity for growth. KPMG is all that and much more,” said Mr Gohil.
“The opportunity to be part of such a dynamic business in a rapidly evolving environment is energising and I can’t wait to start making an impact.”
Just last month, KPMG CBMA announced the acquisition of customer experience innovation consultancy, UDKU.
The acquisition follows a string of high-profile appointments over the last few months, including Publicis Communications chair and Publicis Australia chief executive Andrew Baxter, Louise Pogmore, former managing partner of PR agency One Green Bean, and Greg Daniel, former CEO of advertising agency The Campaign Palace.
