According to CA ANZ, accountants should make use of the quiet period at the start of the year to review their goals to ensure their firm or career is “on the front foot”.
“To meet your professional goals and ensure your professional endeavours stick, it’s time to change how we think about next year’s goals, and start planning for them now,” a CA ANZ spokesperson said.
According to CA ANZ, accountants should prioritise professional development in the New Year, instead of leaving it on the backburner.
They should also review their digital presence, ranging from their business website to their social media presence.
“Creating a strong digital presence allows you to identify who your online audience is. And with any luck, convert this audience into clients,” said CA ANZ.
“Having a solid online brand can also help you establish yourself as a subject-matter expert, share insight and expertise via social media, and generate exposure for you and your business.”
Clients who have yet to implement cloud-based accounting technology should also be briefed on its merits, said the professional association.
