Carbon Group has announced a merger with Ross Group, a family owned accounting firm in Mount Waverley, Melbourne.
The merger will see Ross Group rebranded to Carbon Group, with Igor Hnatko, who joined Carbon in 2019, to lead the rebranded firm as principal partner.
Ross Group managing director Ashley Ross said the merger came down to Carbon’s growth and their focus on providing a localised service from each office.
“As a family run business, it was important for us to align with a firm that shares our passion for providing an exceptional customer experience and values a personalised approach on a local level,” said Mr Ross.
“We’ve been impressed by what Carbon has achieved, and we wanted to join the network to continue our own growth and success whilst still keeping a strong focus on our community.
“We're thrilled to now be able to offer our clients a nationwide network of knowledge and resources. Given world events, we see the additional capability of a firm with a broader network as a massive asset to our clients as we collectively work to navigate the economic impact of COVID-19.”
The merger is Carbon’s second merger of the year, after it announced a deal with Western Australia-based boutique firm Parish Business Services in April.
Mr Hnatko welcomed the Melbourne merger, and said he was looking forward to continuing on delivering the services that Ross Group small and medium business clients had come to expect over the last 30 years.
“I’m looking forward to working with Ashley and the team to continue to deliver exceptional service to our clients and continue the legacy and reputation that the Ross family has built over many years,” said Mr Hnatko.
“I’m excited to further expand our offering in Victoria and think we can bring a lot of new value to clients when they need it with Carbon’s broader skill set.”
