It’s been a dog year for the profession, but we’ve made it to the end. Our analysis of the most-read stories for the year has revealed a recurring central theme that will come as no surprise to anyone: JobKeeper.
Here are our top 10 to six most-read stories:
10. JobKeeper 2.0 payments, eligibility revealed
The extension of the JobKeeper program — dubbed JobKeeper 2.0 — was highly anticipated, and was announced shortly after the Treasury released a snapshot of its midway review.
9. ATO has the final word on lodgement deferrals
Despite the best efforts by the professional accounting bodies, the ATO chose not to grant a blanket deferral for lodgement and payment due dates beyond automatic deferrals that it had previously applied.
8. ATO extends JobKeeper monthly declaration deadline
Did you know that the original JobKeeper rules stipulated that the monthly declaration needed to be lodged by the 7th of each month?
7. Treasurer releases JobKeeper rules
The original JobKeeper rules were released just nine days after the government officially announced the landmark wage subsidy program.
6. JobKeeper 2.0 rules released
It’s only logical that the rules for the extension of the JobKeeper program were as well received as the original rules by Accountants Daily readers.
Don’t forget to check back in tomorrow as we reveal the top five most-read stories of the year.
