Cor Cordis has opened an office in Parramatta with the goal of leveraging economic growth in the area to help bolster the firm’s future potential.

The firm’s expansion and development in the area is intended to grow its current workforce, recognising Greater Western Sydney as a major driver of economic growth with a bustling population and booming infrastructure.

"We believe it is critical that Greater Western Sydney firms have access to the best consultants locally," said Neil Cussen, Partner-in-Charge for Cor Cordis, NSW.

Parramatta is already home to a range of financial businesses including Deloitte, HSBC, Australia Unity, QBE, AON and KPMG, which are already taking advantage of the city's expanding economy.

According to a 2021 report by PriceWaterhouseCooper, Parramatta's economic growth is set to almost double over the next five years and the city is on track to become a leading financial hub.

“We feel it is important that Greater Western Sydney businesses have access to the best advisers locally. With businesses continuing to feel the impact of Covid-19, we feel the time is right to establish a presence in this area.

“Given our expertise in dealing with businesses of all sizes, we believe we are well placed to provide Greater Western Sydney businesses with support and advice as they continue to navigate the current climate.”

“We’re also leveraging the capability and know-how of our staff who live in Greater Western Sydney. Now we offer them the opportunity to also work in the area. Because our team lives locally, they better understand the issues facing businesses in Greater Western Sydney, therefore providing the restructuring advice that businesses need.”

Cor Cordis has worked with high-profile companies to help avoid liquidation, having previously advised retail giant Kikki.K throughout 2020, successfully selling the business to a US-based lifestyle brand company.

Now in its 15th year, Cor Cordis employs more than 20 partners and 120 staff nationally and the firm’s expertise spans across advisory, restructuring and turnaround, insolvency, and forensics services.

The firm also provides a range of services in the small to mid-market sector across a range of industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, health, and property and construction.

The new office, situated at Level 5, 3 Horwood Place, Parramatta, will be operational as of 1 June 2022.
