Business

The acquisition aims to strengthen the company’s position in Western Australia.

SW Accountants & Advisors has acquired Walker Wayland WA to further its reach in the “key market” of Perth.

Walker Wayland WA managing director John Dorazio said that the deal would add great value to SW customers in Western Australia and Walker would have additional resources to help support clients.

Mr Dorazio has been managing director of Walker Wayland WA for six years and will stay on in a leadership position in Perth after the deal.

“We are proud to become part of such a dynamic national firm. SW has a reputation for delivering excellent client service and has been very supportive of its people through the global pandemic,” he said.

Chief executive of SW Accountants and Advisors Duane Rogers said the firm was excited to grow its presence in Western Australia through Walker Wayland WA.

“The team brings strong local market standing, a clear focus on a client-first approach and a team hungry for growth,” he said.

“We believe our cultures and values are well aligned, which further sets the stage for our national growth strategy.”

Walker Wayland WA has expertise in supporting start-up businesses and those wanting to grow or sell, as well as providing financial services and chartered accounting support in industries such as franchising, health and real estate.

Mr Rogers said that SW Accountants & Advisors was strategically positioned to deliver its service capabilities both domestically and internationally.

“WA is a key market for some of Australia’s most important industries, so we believe this expansion will support the foundation required for our long-term growth and provide a stronger national presence for our clients and our people,” Mr Rogers said.

This acquisition will see SW Accountants & Advisors grow to 38 partners and 300 people. In 2021 it was ranked at number 22 in the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Accounting Firms with a turnover of $60 million.

The absorption of Walker Wayland WA is the first major acquisition of SW Accountants & Advisors since joining SW International, when it changed name from Moore Stephens Melbourne to ShineWing Australia. In May 2021 it rebranded to SW Accountants & Advisors.
