In a brief statement to the ASX this morning, ANZ confirmed it has withdrawn from talks with private equity group Kohlberg Kravis Roberts about purchasing MYOB.
The statement comes as the big four bank embarks on an equity raising to fund acquisition of Suncorp's banking division.
Just last week, ANZ confirmed it was discussing the purchase of MYOB from KKR in a deal purported to be worth $4 billion.
The accounting software specialist was bought by KKR in 2019 in a deal that valued the company at around $2 billion.
