Accounting firm H&R Block has been listed as one of the world’s best employers by finance magazine Forbes.
The company ranked 345 in a list of 800, beating peers in the business and professional services sectors such as Accenture at 351, Deloitte at 490, Mazars at 675, and Grant Thornton in 744.
President and CEO of H&R Block Jeff Jones said he was proud that the firm’s employees enjoyed working for the company.
“We are honoured that our employees around the globe believe H&R Block is a great place to work,” he said.
“We are dedicated to a connected culture that fosters associate collaboration and a sense of belonging.”
“Being named to Forbes’ world’s best employers recognises our work to build an inclusive, supportive culture that enhances how we provide help to our clients.”
The list was topped by Samsung, Microsoft and IBM, which took out the top three positions and were closely followed by Google’s parent firm Alphabet and Apple.
Managing director for H&R Block Australia Brodie Dixon said the acknowledgement of the firm’s good work would encourage the team to strive for better.
“Receiving this recognition will serve as further motivation for all associates, and particularly leaders, to live up to the award in everything we do,” said Mr Dixon.
“This recognition can also help us attract and retain the best and brightest to the team, which can support our next wave of innovation and growth.”
The firm said the award would support its development, focused on solving problems surrounding small business, financial products, and tax experience.
“This recognition also celebrates the impact our associates all around the globe have on their local communities,” said Peter Bruno, president of H&R Block Canada.
“This is a validation of the passion I see across the organisation.”
Forbes’ world’s best employers 2022 ranking was created through partnering with market research firm Statista, which conducted independent surveys of 150,000 employees in more than 55 countries.
The survey asked respondents to rate their employer on topics such as image, trust, gender equality, corporate social responsibility, culture, and benefits.
Established in 1971, H&R Block Australia is one of Australia’s largest tax preparation firms and handles over 700,000 returns annually.
The business also has offices in Canada, Ireland, India, and the US.
