New Rising Stars Awards premiers for young accountants

Nominations and submissions have opened for the first-ever Rising Stars Awards for accountants aged 35 and under.

In a significant milestone, Accountants Daily and sister brand Accounting Times alongside principal partner Intuit QuickBooks are announcing the launch of the inaugural Rising Stars Awards 2024* to provide national recognition to accounting professionals aged 35 and under who have worked hard to cement their position in the industry.

Submit an entry or nominate a worthy colleague by Friday, 13 September 2024 for a chance to secure this coveted accolade and reap the benefits of being an award winner.

The Rising Stars Awards is an unparalleled program that identifies the finest young accountants across Australia who have dedicated themselves to cement their position in the accounting industry at the early stages of their careers.

Achieving rising star status could build the foundation for career progression for top-performing young accountants nationwide while acknowledging them for professional competency, passion for accounting, and dedication to career and personal advancement.

There are 20 individual categories for candidates to enter into, including Accountant (Boutique Firm), Accounting Student, Bookkeeper, Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions, Specialist Consultant, and Tax and Compliance.

Tech innovators and wellness advocates will also be celebrated for their innovation and successes at the inaugural awards this year.

Winning a Rising Stars award could elevate individuals above their competitors as an emerging leader in the accounting industry across Australia while strengthening their position and unlocking new career opportunities.

The submissions will be judged by a panel of influential and well-respected professionals, who will offer peer-reviewed recognition of the capabilities of young accountants and their passion for propelling the accounting industry to new heights.

How finalists will be shortlisted

Accountants Daily and Accounting Times, in conjunction with parent company Momentum Media and a panel of leading accounting professionals, has developed a robust awards methodology to form the backbone for assessing, analysing and benchmarking Australia’s leading accounting professionals ages 35 or under. The judging criteria for award categories are quantitative and qualitative, acknowledging growth, business development, diversity, leadership, innovation, business excellence and contribution to Australia’s accounting sector.

All submissions undergo a thorough audit process, checking demographic and other information against category-eligible criteria based on the information provided in the submission.

Those submissions deemed eligible against submission criteria will be reviewed and assessed by a panel of Momentum Media events and editorial team members and executives (alongside industry stakeholders where required) to determine the finalists for each category.

Accountants Daily will reveal the finalists on Tuesday, 15 October 2024.

Then, fill in the details of your submission/s.

Finally, when you are happy with your submission, press save and lodge it.
