CPA Australia announced the appointment of Julie Crisp to the board as its first Territorian. Crisp was the former NT auditor-general and a retired partner at Deloitte.
Crisp said it was an honour to join the board of directors at CPA Australia.
“I look forward to working with Professor Pinto and the rest of the board to further enhance and promote the value CPA Australia provides to its members and the profession as a whole,” she said.
“It’s an added bonus that I am the first person from the Territory to be appointed to the board of CPA Australia.”
“The profession is a tight-knit community in the Top End so I hope this can help inspire others to pursue the kind of rich and rewarding career that I continue to enjoy.”
Currently the deputy chair of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AASB), Crisp has experience in risk management, internal audit, financial audit, forensic analysis and business process improvement.
CPA Australia president and chair Dale Pinto said he is thrilled to welcome Crisp to the board.
“Julie is a highly accomplished director, auditor and advisory professional with more than 30 years’ experience,” he said.
“Her skills and knowledge will no doubt add great value to our organisations as she shares the Board’s commitment to providing ongoing value to our members.”
“It’s a delightful coincidence that Julie has become the first Territorian to join the board of directors and I’m confident her appointment will enhance our connections with the top end and inspire more aspiring accountants from the territory to pursue careers in our esteemed profession.”
