PwC has announced it will move into Australia‘s largest office building, Tower 1 of International Towers Sydney at Barangaroo South, in Sydney’s CBD.

The firm plans to move into the 49-storey building in the CBD harbourside precinct sometime in late 2016.

PwC has entered into a lease agreement to take 26,500 square metres (12 floors) of commercial floor space in the final and largest of the three commercial towers to be constructed at Barangaroo South.

Luke Sayers, PwC Australia’s chief executive, said the decision to move premises was based on a number of key factors but highlighted the building’s modern and innovative work spaces.

“Teams of the future need dynamic office space which is flexible, collaborative and designed to support the mobile world in which we now operate," said Mr Sayers, “and the open plan nature of the space will help improve communication, collaboration and productivity for us and our clients."

Designed by award-winning architects Lord Richard Rogers and Ivan Harbour, International Towers Sydney has lifts on the outside of the buildings to allow for large, clear floor plates to help remove the "silo mentality" that exists in some office spaces today, according to PwC.

Tower 1 has a net lettable area of approximately 101,000 square metres of commercial space and on completion is set to become Australia's largest premium office building.
