Based in Melbourne, Jason Crawford has joined Moore Stephens to lead the new division.
In a statement, the firm said the appointment reinforces Moore Stephens’ commitment to investing in top talent and offering clients an even greater depth of services than ever before.
“We are delighted to have Jason join our Melbourne firm to deliver R&D tax and government incentives services to meet our client needs,” states Marco Carlei, managing director of Moore Stephens Australia.
It also demonstrates Moore Stephens’ commitment to meeting clients’ changing needs and providing value-added service offerings to ensure their continued success and growth, the firm said.
Mr Crawford told AccountantsDaily he is thrilled to join Moore Stephens and excited to lead R&D tax incentive and government grants offering.
"I was attracted by their really strong agenda for growth and the culture of the firm is particularly attractive – not just for the people who work here but also in terms of the value that they put on clients and developing client relationships."
“In terms of the areas that myself, and my team work in, we see the mid-tier as being the service provider of choice going forward; in terms of not only the technical expertise and quality of work but also in terms of the cost effectiveness for clients.”
Mr Crawford said his years of experience in the area will help his team offer clients a valuable service from the start.
“I think you do need to be proactive in terms of knowing technically what qualifies for the tax incentives and also having the experience and the skills set around the grant application process.”
“It’s also about knowing who to connect with within the different government bodies and certainly having, in my case, nearly twenty years of experience across a range of industries, you start to have a real feel for what does and doesn’t qualify under these range of programs,” Mr Crawford said.
