The app allows users to create and send invoices, see who owes them money and record cash and cheque payments from their smartphone.
General manager connected services, Andrew Birch, said the release of the app for AccountRight and Essentials clients is part of the ongoing process of MYOB’s commitment to making business life easier.
“MYOB recognises the need for customers to have mobile functionality. What we are focused on is analysing the state of play, listening to our customers and evolving with the technology to make sure we’re providing the very best."
MYOB AccountRight and Essentials users can also attach the MYOB PayDirect Mobile Payments Service. Combining the app with the PayDirect card reader turns a smartphone into a secure payment terminal that takes card payments.
“The MYOB OnTheGo app reduces the need to re-key data, which improves accuracy and saves our clients and partners time. The office paper trail starts with invoices and receipts – we’re pinpointing the source of that trail and enabling the electronic generation,” Mr Birch said.
The March 2014 MYOB Business Monitor revealed that 43 per cent of SMEs use one or more smartphones for business.
