Bentleys announces merger, flags further expansion

Business

Bentleys has today announced a merger designed to expand its reach and improve its cloud solutions offering.

By Michael Masterman 10 minute read

Bentleys Tasmania will merge with Paragon BDS to form Bentleys Paragon.

Paragon BDS currently has two offices in Ulverstone and Sheffield, both in the north of Tasmania.

David Wilson, managing director of Bentleys Tasmania, said the merge will allow the firm to expand its state-wide footprint, meaning better access for current and future clients.

“We are delighted to welcome Paragon BDS into the Bentleys family. The merge supports Bentleys' national expansion plans, combines the expertise of the growing Cloud Solutions division of Bentleys, bolsters our Tax, Accounting, Audit and Advisory services, and brings the added bonus of the first female Partner in Tasmania,” he said.

The deal will see Bentleys Tasmania, together with Bentleys Paragon, become a Xero platinum partner.

According to Mr Wilson, Bentleys is now looking for a Launceston-based firm with a 'good cultural fit' to partner with, to improve its offering in that market.

“We would be looking for a firm with a good, strong cultural fit with ourselves. So, that would probably be somebody who’s interested in the cloud solutions and advisory type work that we do, along with audit, and has a good history of successfully operating in Launceston,” Mr Wilson said.

“I don’t have any preconceived idea about the size of the firm. We will be looking for a quality firm – its size is not the be-all and end-all.”

“We are looking to get somebody who has the mindset of wanting to improve clients' businesses, which is what ourselves and Paragon are all about.”
