Roger Darvall-Stevens will join the mid-tier firm as partner in the Melbourne audit and assurance practice and take on the role of national head of fraud and forensic services.
Mr Darvall-Stevens joins RSM Bird Cameron after more than 25 years at EY, having worked with a wide range of public and private companies during that time.
Kim Hutchinson, national chairman, RSM Bird Cameron, said he was pleased to welcome Mr Darvall-Stevens to the firm.
“Roger’s appointment will strengthen the firm’s capabilities in forensic investigations and forensic accounting, fraud, bribery and corruption, control including prevention, detection and response, related training, forensic IT, compliance and corporate security,” he said.
The firm has also promoted Katie O’Connor and Brad Loftus to principals.
Ms O’Connor is part of the RSM Bird Cameron team in Melbourne and provides business advisory services to private clients and small to medium-sized businesses.
Mr Loftus joined RSM Bird Cameron in Sydney as part of the Guild Accountants merger in December 2011. He currently advises SMEs across a broad range of sectors, including the childcare sector and provides support both to SMEs and peak industry bodies.
“The appointment of Roger and promotions of Katie and Brad reflect recent growth and [the] confidence the firm has in the national team,” Mr Hutchinson said.
