Xero makes more changes to leadership team

Business

Xero has announced another shake-up of the firm's leadership team, naming a new CFO and creating a new role of chief operating officer.

By Staff Reporter 10 minute read

Douglas Jeffries has been appointed executive vice-president and chief financial officer while current CFO Ross Jenkins will assume the new role of COO.

The move follows Xero’s decision to remove the role of chief revenue officer (CRO) role earlier this month.

In a statement, Xero said Mr Jeffries has more than 30 years of financial, strategic and operational leadership experience at a number of companies, including Taleo Corporation, Palm Inc. and Ebay Inc.

Xero’s chief executive, Rod Drury, said the company’s leadership and potential are evidenced by the talent joining the organisation.

“Doug brings a world-class technology finance background to ready us for more growth and strengthen our leadership in North America,” he said.

Mr Jeffries said he was pleased to be joining such an innovative and fast-growing organisation.

“I’m excited to be joining a company so focused on delivering a compelling user experience through product innovation, and in turn driving incredible growth," he said.

“Xero is poised to become the platform millions of small businesses and their advisers run and grow on around the world.”

In addition, Xero announced that Greg Volm - previously senior director of North America sales for Zendesk - would become vice-president of US sales, and Matt Jefferson would be UK sales director.
