New report to provide small businesses international insight

The government has released a new report designed to keep small businesses that are interested in exporting, importing and operating globally informed about the geopolitical developments that impact their business activities.

Small business minister Bruce Billson said the publication, Business Envoy, brings insights from Australia’s global diplomatic network to the Australian business community.

“It considers global geopolitical events and trends, their economic implications and what they might mean for Australian business,” Mr Billson said.

“The global economy is evolving and becoming increasingly integrated. Access to relevant and timely information about international markets is crucial for growing enterprises seeking to capitalise on global trade opportunities – whether businesses are embarking on new ventures or expanding existing activities.”

Mr Billson said the report shows the government is committed to assisting Australian small businesses achieve their best outcomes, both at home and overseas.

“The commercial and economic insights available through the Business Envoy release further complement our work in helping small businesses access international markets through Free Trade Agreements and the Export Market Developments Grants Scheme,” Mr Billson said.
