The international software giant plans to integrate its cloud accounting software QuickBooks Online with the e-commerce platform Bigcommerce.
According to a statement from Intuit, Bigcommerce provides online retailers the tools to launch, promote, manage and scale an online store. The platform delivers users advanced features such as enterprise-grade analytics and advanced marketing tools.
The initiative will allow accounting data to flow and be updated automatically for online merchants, allowing them to spend less time balancing the books and more time focused on business growth.
Although an Australian launch date has not yet been confirmed, Nicolette Maury, managing director of Intuit Australia, claimed the integration is an example of how Intuit is tailoring QuickBooks Online to meet the unique needs of a broad range of small businesses.
“This integration will give back precious time to busy retailers by facilitating the automatic transfer of transactions from their web store to their QuickBooks Online account. It streamlines the bookkeeping process and provides a new level of business efficiency for online businesses,” she said.
“Australians spent a massive $16.6 billion online in 2014, an increase of nine per cent on the previous year, so we know online retail is a thriving sector and spans businesses of all sizes. We’re delighted to be joining forces with Bigcommerce and believe this integration will help online businesses thrive by making the accounting process seamless and invisible,” said Ms Maury.
Melanie Kalemba, senior vice-president of sales and strategic business development at Bigcommerce, said the integration is the result of a shared vision and will bring best-in-class expertise to its merchants.
“Bigcommerce is focused on bringing e-commerce to every retail business owner," Ms Kalemba said.
"The retail industry functions online, in physical stores and everywhere in between, so together with Intuit, we’re working to connect those channels to make business more efficient.”
