Xero releases features to boost productivity

Business

Xero has today released several new features it claims will significantly increase the productivity and success of small businesses across the country.

By Staff Reporter 10 minute read

Speaking to AccountantsDaily, Xero’s Australian managing director, Chris Ridd, said the multi-feature launch is made up of a number of key items that have been eagerly anticipated.

Mr Ridd highlighted the new inventory feature as a major development for Xero.

“This is one Rod [Xero’s CEO Rod Drury] has always been talking about in terms of completing the horizontal accounting platform,” he said. "It is about addressing a feature requirement that a broad set of the market have been asking for."

Other key features released today include Online Quotes and Partner Trials.

Mr Ridd said the Online Quotes feature builds on the recently launched and highly popular Sales Quotes feature.

“We launched Sales Quotes last month and since then the team has been focused on building the ability to do Online Quotes, building on the existing feature.

“This feature allows small business to further streamline their whole sales process so they can collaborate with customers on quotes and have those approved via an online link, which is a really great workflow improvement,” he said.

The new Partner Trials feature allows Xero partners, such as accountants and bookkeepers, to create trials for potential Xero customers in their own My Xero account.

“It’s a really good way for partners to introduce potential clients to Xero without the customer going off and setting up their own trial. The partner can stay in control and it of course lets the small business owner check out the package before they enter into a subscription," Mr Ridd said.

“What typically happens is an accountant or bookkeeper may talk to a client about Xero then the client goes off and the partner doesn’t know how they are going. This way they’re actually able to create the trial in their My Xero and then just manage the process for the customer themselves.”
