Queensland managing partner Rick Dennis has announced he will retire on 1 July 2015.

Mr Dennis is a member of EY’s senior leadership team and has led the Queensland office twice as managing partner, first from 2001 to 2007 and then again from 2014 to the present.

Mr Dennis joined the firm as a graduate accountant in 1981 and was made a partner of EY Australia in 1991.

In 2005, Mr Dennis established and led EY’s Australia China Business Group and has since worked closely with Chinese and Australian companies on bilateral investment and trade opportunities.

EY Oceania chief executive and managing partner Tony Johnson said Mr Dennis’ contribution to EY over the years had been significant and that he would be missed.

“Rick has been an instrumental part of EY’s leadership team, in both his Asia-Pacific and Queensland roles. As Queensland Managing Partner, he has overseen the development of our business and our people in this important and growing market.”

“We wish him well as he pursues new opportunities and experiences in the market,” Mr Johnson said.

A successor for the role of Queensland managing partner will be announced in due course, the firm said.
