According to Sage, this substantial increase in sales clearly signals a shift that many SME and mid-market business are now looking to explore different payroll options.
Michael Smith, managing director of Sage MicrOpay, said the changing business landscape is driving many organisations to rethink their existing payroll arrangements.
“Some industry sectors such as clubs, aged care and child care are going through consolidation, which means businesses in these sectors are getting bigger and needing more robust, scalable and reliable payroll solutions," he said.
Mr Smith said compliance and administrative functions have a strong bearing on the decision to seek out payroll solutions. "As these factors come into play, businesses need accurate and reliable software to mitigate risks and make their operations profitable," he said.
“The sheer breadth of new clients representing a wide range of industry sectors using the MicrOpay products is a testament to the easy-to-use features and time-saving capabilities of [our products] Meridian and Wage Easy. We are thrilled that our payroll products continue to be the premier payroll solution of choice for small to medium businesses across Australia,” Mr Smith said.
