Bstar chief executive Grant Bloxham said the course has been developed off the back of research by Bstar which showed that nine out of 10 accountants need help delivering advisory services to clients.
“Our research identified 91 per cent of accountants lack the confidence to deliver advice services effectively to their clients," Mr Bloxham said.
“As the profession transitions to advice, this course is the first ever to build these skill sets."
Mr Bloxham said the course has been designed specifically to help accountants reshape their businesses to meet the challenges of the new environment in which they can no longer rely on compliance work alone.
“We built a purpose-built course that is web-based that provides a training and education solution to one of the key issues around giving accountants the confidence and skill set to deliver advice services to their clients,” he said.
“It’s all about providing business advisory services around helping clients grow and improve their business and plan for succession."
Rather than helping accountants provide the advisory work, the course is focused on helping accountants have an initial conversation with clients to get them started on an advice-based relationship.
“The course is really about having the ability to engage clients on an advice service journey... it doesn't go into depth around the solutions provided,” Mr Bloxham said.
