PwC has announced a total of 64 new partners will be appointed in this year’s partner intake.

The new partners, to be admitted across all of the firm’s businesses, will take on their role on 1 July 2015.
Luke Sayers, chief executive of PwC Australia, congratulated the new partners on their appointment, praising their outstanding professional expertise and highlighting the cultural diversity among the group.
"Our new partners bring a variety of background and experience to our clients, having lived in, worked across, or delivered projects throughout Asia, North America, Latin America and Europe,” he said.
Mr Sayers admitted, however, that the firm would have liked to see more female partners appointed this year, with women making up just 17 per cent of the new appointments.
"We are not satisfied with the gender split in this latest group of partners and we are working very hard to improve this number," he said.
In an attempt to address the low number of females in the partnership, PwC said it will be adopting a target of “40:40:20” for all future partner intakes.

“This means that our aim will be to have a minimum of 40 per cent women and 40 per cent men making up our future partner admits. The remaining 20 per cent can be either men or women,” the firm said.
This aside, Mr Sayers said the partners appointed reflect areas of future growth for the firm.
“Admitting six partners into our private clients business reflects our confidence that medium and large family and private businesses will continue to be a central pillar in our nation's economic future," he said.
"More than a quarter of our new partners are from our Consulting business who, along with the partners we are welcoming from Strategy, will continue to deliver on the firm's unique ability to meet client demand for both disruptive and innovative strategies, as well as the capability to work with clients to execute those strategies.
"We've also invested in growing our presence in Western Sydney. Last week we released research which shows that one fifth of the nation's economic output comes from just 10 locations, with Macquarie Park amongst that list. With significant infrastructure spend in Parramatta about to come online, we want to ensure we are well placed to meet client demand in these emerging economic powerhouses," Mr Sayers said.
