The integration will include a number of new workflow enhancements, such as allowing Xero users to access and share Dropbox files from within Xero, as well as a joint offer for small businesses customers to help them simplify their accounting workflow.
Several new features will be revealed throughout the year, the companies added, but declined to disclose details.
Managing director for Dropbox in Australia and New Zealand, Charlie Wood, said the two products align perfectly for small business and together can significantly improve efficiency, particularly in the start-up phase.
“Cloud solutions from Dropbox and Xero provide an opportunity for rapidly growing businesses to accelerate and differentiate their services and offerings,” Mr Wood said.
“Together, we’ll be able to offer everything a small business needs to get up and running from day one.”
Chris Ridd, managing director of Xero in Australia, said that for Xero, the partnership is a further step towards providing small businesses with a full-service technology solution.
“Our partnership with Dropbox is another big step in our efforts to demonstrate continuing innovation and support for small businesses," he said.
“Combining our efforts with Dropbox will support us in becoming a smarter and even-better connected platform for small businesses.”
Meanwhile, Dropbox has been announced as a major sponsor of Xero’s upcoming Xerocon Australia conference, with Mr Wood scheduled as a keynote speaker.
Other guest speakers announced for Xerocon 2015 include; John Ball, head of small business, Google Australia; Bruce Billson, Minister for Small Business; David Koch, co–host of Sunrise and CEO of Pinstripe Media; Andrew Conway, CEO of the Institute of Public Accountants; and Adam Bennett, executive general manager, digital and direct banking, at National Australia Bank.
