Business

Recently-formed financial services group Carbon Business has made two key acquisitions in a move to expand its service offering.

Carbon Business Group has acquired Midland firm PaperChase Bookkeeping along with Ellenbrook practice Swan Valley Tax & Accounting.

The two acquisitions will place the firms under the Carbon brand, and they will subsequently be rebranded as Carbon East and Carbon North East.

The move follows the group’s expansion into Bibra Lake, with another acquisition announced earlier in September.

“We’ve had an exceptional first year of business, and our second is already exceeding expectations thanks to our amazing team,” said Nathan Hood, co-founder and head of Carbon Accounting.

Jamie Davison, co-founder and head of Carbon Bookkeeping, noted that the Midland, Ellenbrook and Bibra Lake suburbs are major growth areas.

“We’ve identified these as growth areas which we want to be a part of as strategic locations,” he said.

“Beyond that, we found GLC, PaperChase and Swan Valley Tax to be like-minded in their approach to helping small businesses, making it a perfect fit all round,” Mr Davison added.

Carbon Business Group is the result of a merger between Sterling Accountants and Fortuna Bravado Bookkeepers, accompanied by the launch of three new divisions: insurance, business systems and finance.

The acquisitions have seen staff numbers grow from 14 to 50 over the past year.
