A NSW-based boutique firm has outlined a new philanthropic program that it claims is already providing clear benefits both outside and inside the business.

PMW director Daniel Miller said he is confident the fund will hit the $20,000 target through a combination of donations from the company itself, a workplace giving programme run by the staff, contributions from clients and by hosting a community fundraising event during the year.
“As a business, we’re going to match whatever our staff commit to as part of their salary sacrifice,” said Mr Miller.
"The beauty and power of the system is that pooling small amounts of money across large numbers of staff ends up being a significant contribution. Just 50¢ a work day, or $2.50 a week across all our staff adds up to thousands of dollars,” Miller said.
“We’ll then encourage small contributions to the PMW Common Cents Fund from clients and will host a community event during the year," Mr Miller added.
“We’re excited about making a significant contribution to local organisations in need of assistance and encourage other businesses in Orange who may not yet have a philanthropy program to instigate something similar."
According to Mr Miller, the firm has already seen internal benefits stemming from the new program with staff getting behind the initiative from the start.
“Quite aside from the obvious benefits to the local community, this commitment to philanthropy is already giving us a boost in staff morale," he said.
"When we discussed implementing the programme the staff were very eager to lead and engage with the idea. They've worked together to decide which local charities will receive funding and this has created a combined sense of purpose and a great feeling of goodwill."
