Business

Ahead of its planned “national realignment” and a service offering shake-up, one mid-tier firm has announced the sale of its Melbourne business recovery and insolvency (BRI) practice.

Corporate and personal insolvency firm Cor Cordis has picked up BDO’s BRI practice.

Three Melbourne-based partners and practice team members will move to Cor Cordis as part of the sale.

BDO’s national head of business recovery and insolvency Andrew Fielding said the sale is in line with BDO’s service offering realignment, which is occurring on a national scale.

“Over the past few months we have been looking at ways to better align our service offering to the needs of our clients and the market in general,” Mr Fielding said.

“Very shortly we will be announcing a new service framework which will establish our practice as an industry leading provider of business restructuring services, and this sale is an important step in that process,” he said.

“It’s an exciting time for our national team and I’m looking forward to putting our new strategy in play to better match our services to the needs of clients."

In the past couple of weeks there have been several management and leadership changes at BDO, including a spate of new appointments at the firm's Brisbane office and leadership changes at the Perth office.
