Professionals Travel Cover has launched a travel cover product for accountants and their firms in response to the increasing demand for business travel insurance for professionals going to conferences and visiting interstate clients.
According to Professionals Travel Cover managing director Ian Jackson, professionals usually take out standalone individual cover or source cover through insurance brokers, which are typically designed for larger corporates and can be expensive for small practices.
“Our vision was to fill this void with a less complex, easy-to-purchase product developed specifically for professional practices,” Mr Jackson said.
The new product allows accountancy firms to purchase a single annual travel insurance policy that covers up to 10 accountants travelling per annum. It covers multiple trips, both international and domestic, and is tax-deductible for the firm.
Under the policy, accountancy firms don’t need to declare their accountants’ pre-existing medical conditions, premiums don’t increase for travellers over 65 years of age, and free family cover is included.
“This is a first in the Australian market. Unlike most retail travel insurance products, practices do not pay increased premiums for accountants travelling with existing medical conditions,” Mr Jackson said.
“We understand that accountants often like to combine their international business travel with leisure, so we have bundled free travel insurance for spouses, life partners and dependent children who are travelling with the policy holder.”
