Accodex chief executive Chris Hooper speaks to Accountants Daily’s editor Katarina Taurian about how he plans to break the mould and transition his start-up into a multi-million dollar network - and it didn't start with accounting.

"My first 'business' was a professional wrestling federation that I started with some friends from high school, I think I was 13 at the time," Mr Hooper said.

"Turns out, you can't make any money out of professional wrestling in the Adelaide market. So, the capitalist in me was out by age 15."

Mr Hooper also talks through life behind the scenes, including how he manages his personal schedule, his family life, and his energy as he pours everything into fuelling his brain child.

"You're never really off. Even when I'm at home, in bed, watching Gilmore Girls, I'm still reading Accountants Daily, and tweeting you, and everyone else in the accounting profession. I'm always thinking about Accodex. I don't think you ever really get time off. It's hard to gauge when you stop working when it's everything that you think, and everything that you dream about," he said.
